OBITUARY :
MR. NORMAN C. KNOTT, 80, of 108 Kristyn Court, Waynesboro, PA, passed away August 2, 2012 in Manor Care Health Services, Chambersburg, PA, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 23, 1931 in Marion, PA, he was the son of the late Walter B. and Elizabeth M. (Cordell) Knott.

Mr. Knott was a graduate of Washington Township High School with the Class of 1949.

He served in the United States Air force during the Korean War where he was stationed at Langley Field, VA.

He and his first wife, Mrs. Frances A. (Hoppe) Knott, were married September 2, 1952. She passed away July 10, 1984. He married his second wife, Mrs. Lois A. Sheeley, June 15, 1985. She passed away January 9, 2012.

Mr. Knott was employed at Frick Company, Waynesboro, for 42 years. He retired in 1996.

He was a member of Otterbein Church, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15 and Frick Company Booster Club, all of Waynesboro.

Mr. Knott enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Thompson of Tok, AK; his step children, Lonnie Sheeley and his wife, Mary Lou of Chambersburg, Stacie Murdorf and her husband, Dave, Kelly Misner and her husband, Bertis and Craig Sheeley and his wife, Angie, all of Waynesboro; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Doreen Raub and her husband, Jay of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Charles Knott and his wife, Martha of Gurley, AL and Paul Knott and his wife, Mary Ruth of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, first wife and second wife, he was preceded in death by seven sisters; and five brothers.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Pastor John Mullen officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Mill Cemetery, Kauffman Station, PA, where military graveside honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post #1599, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of his favorite charities: Boystown National Research Hospital, 555 N. 30th Street, Omaha NE 68131, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
