US Congressman. Elected to represent Minnesota's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1959 to 1975. Also served as a Member of the Minnesota State Senate for the 22nd District from 1935 to 1948, Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Minnesota in 1948, 1952, and 1960 as Alternate, Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota from 1953 to 1954, and Candidate for Governor of Minnesota in 1956.
