Mr. J. M. Gibson Dies in LaGrange
Mr. J. M. Gibson, aged 87, died at LaGrange hospital, after a short illness. Mr. Gibson had been in failing health for some time, and was visiting his daughter, Mrs. W. W. Linderman, at the time of his last illness. Hp was a member of the Fairfax Nazarene Church, and was a highly respected citizen, a Confederate Veteran whose war record had won for him a decoration for bravery at the battle of Chickamauga. Mr. Gibson had lived in Lanett for the past four years, and had formerly made his home in Fairfax and earlier was engaged in farming in Chambers county. He was a native of Campbell county, Ga. Funeral services were held at Dunson Methodist church, Rev. Bob Nelson, of Lanett being assisted by Rev. Alton Davis, pastor of the Dunson Methodist church. Surviving Mr. Gibson are three sons, T. J. Gibson, R. E. Gibson and H. C. Gibson, and a daughter, Mrs. W. W. Linderman, all of LaGrange.
