As the rockets red glare faded from the July 4th skies and the clock passed midnight, our beloved mother checked out of this ol' world. She never missed a party, but she's not sad to miss a birthday. Ruby Iva Iverson was born Aug 1, 1917 in Ephraim, UT to Iver E. Iverson and Lura Hansen Iverson. She attended schools throughout Sanpete County. She went to Manti High and Snow College. After a bold move to the BIG city, she met a handsome young man, Harold Bailey. They were married Dec 21, 1939 in the Manti LDS Temple. Harold was inducted into the armed forces in 1942, and reported for training shortly after the birth of their first child. During the war, Ruby worked for the Post Office. After his return in 1946, the young couple settled in Salt Lake City. Ruby worked many jobs, but her favorite was teaching swimming. She taught and managed the night school swim programs at Granite and Granger High for 40 years. She was active in the LDS church where she served as Primary president, MIA teacher and leader; but she will be best remembered as Primary chorister. She taught the children to sing harmony, and they performed several times at General Conference. She has four children, Sandra K. Ludwig (John), Dennis I. Bailey (JoAnn), Linette B Hutton, Cory M. Bailey (Gloria); grandchildren, Michael, David, Daniel, and Shauna Ludwig, Christopher and Wyatt Bailey, Nicole and Jordan Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Austin and Sophie Ludwig, Eric and Nicholas Ludwig. Mom, we'll be seeing you. Services will be Tues. July 9, 2002, 12 noon, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Dr, where friends may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Tues. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Mem. Park..
