Died at her home in this neighborhood, Friday July 26. 1895, Mrs. Sarah J. [sic] Crouse, aged 71 years and 11 days. She had been in poor health for several months, but was not confined to her bed until about one week before her death. She was a member of the Methodist Church, an when her change come [sic] fell asleep peacefully in the arms of Jesus. Mrs. Crouse was the mother of 11 children, 6 of whom are living to mourn her death. She was buried on Saturday from the family residence at the U.P. Cemetery in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. The family have the sympathy of the entire community and may the Lord be gracious to them.
Dear Mother you have left us--
We could hardly let you go;
But in the Home where you have gone
God and His angels love you so.
Dear Mother you have left us--
Your chair is vacant now;
But it is God that hath bereft us,
To his will we humbly bow.
