James (Jim) Henson, a former long time resident of Mojave, was born on July 3, 1935 in Claremore, Oklahoma and passed on June 26, 2012 in Paso Robles, California. He was a life time member of the Mojave Elks, and he ran the gun range for over thirteen years. James was preceded in death by his son, Michael Henson, and his granddaughter, Kari VanTassel. He was also preceded by seven siblings: Lola Davis, Herbert (Herb) Henson, Glenn (Rip) Henson, Mildred (Millie) Parsons, Mary Dicks, Thelma (Jody) DeGraffenreid, and Virginia (Midgie) Skebbo. He is survived by one sister Maudie Meingast of Wisconsin. He was a loving father to his three children: Deborah (Debbie) Lawhorn of Texas, James (Ace) Henson of Texas, and Darlena VanTassel of California. James was loved by his six grandchildren and five great grand children. James had many loving nieces and nephews. We love you: dad, brother, grandpa, and uncle. You will be greatly missed!
