On December 31, 1835, she was married to Alexander Smith by Richard Alcorn, a Minister of the Gospel in Jackson Co., TN. (Richard was a brother of my paternal 3rd great-grandfather, Robert Alcorn).
They had 5 children: Louisa Smith Hargate, James Alexander, Wiley W. (named after his uncle Wiley W. Harris), Martha E. Smith Smith, and Rice Ross (named after his uncle, Rice Ross Turner).
Alexander died on June 20, 1850 in Wilson Co., TN and his burial place is unknown at this time.
Lourana married Jonathan Yates on December 4, 1856 and after he died she married Hugh Austin in 1869, but divorced him. She lived with her son, Wiley W., from 1873 until her death sometime in February, 1901.
There is no tombstone marking her grave, but she is probably buried in the Van Buren City Cemetery where her son, Wiley, and two wives, Emily Ann and Julia Ann are buried.
