MRS. MARGARET GOULD GONE TO ETERNAL REST
Died - At her home near Ulysses, Nebr., Friday evening, November 27, 1914, Mrs. Margaret Gould, aged seventy-one years, three months and two days.
Margaret Keys was born in Laselle county, Ill., August 25, 1843, and at an early age was married to Mr. John Gould, who preceded her to the better world December 18, 1912.
Eight children blessed their union, two of whom died in infancy. Three daughters, Mrs. Lulu Gould Jones, Agnes and Bessie, passed away during the past few years. The surviving children are: Daniel, Catherine and James of Ulysses.
Deceased had suffered from a complications of ailments for several years past, but was cheerful and happy under the most adverse circumstances. Her husband became an invalid from rheumatism during the early years of their married life when the care and responsibility attendant upon the upbringing of the little ones, associated with the labor and management of a farm were this good woman's portion for many years. However, she was endowed with patience and fortitutde and proved a devoted helpmate and a fond and loving mother. Mrs. Gould died, as she had lived, a devout Catholic whose presence will be missed by a large circle of friends who extend condolence to the bereaved relatives. Deceased was takn seriously ill ten days ago of a billious attack, but had so far recovered as to be up and about the house Friday, when she was taken suddenly worse in the evening of the same day and a few hours later passed away of heart failure. The funeral services were held Monday morning, November 30, at 10 o'clock at the Ulysses Catholic church, where a requiem mass was celebrated for the repose of her soul by her pastor, the Rev. Father Doughran, who delivered an impressive sermon in which he paid tender tribute to the many excellent qualities of deceaesd. Interment was made by the side of her husband and daughters in the Catholic cemetery near town. "Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord and may Light Perpetual shine upon her." E. B. L.
