She served 21 years in the military retiring from the United States Army in 1990, as a lieutenant colonel. At the time of her death on July 16, 2004, she was a project manager for the Allen Corp. (formerly Synoptics Systems) in Colonial Heights.
A funeral was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, from Gillfield Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA.
