Muriel Winona Layne Willey, age 91, died December 29.1990 in Salt Lake City.

Born August 17,1899 in Ogden, Utah to Charles Ellis and Marcia Ann Allen Layne, the next youngest of 17 children. Married David Ferris Willey April 1, 1920 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died November 16, 1979.She was a member of the Ogden Tabernacle Choir and active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She helped organize a Women's Service Club for the benefit of servicemen during World War II where she donated many hours to bring some merit of happiness to servicemen away from home. She enjoyed playing the organ, painting and especially loved her family, and will be greatly missed by them and her many friends.Survived by daughters, Mrs Jim (Faye) Lowe, Pittsburg, California; Muriel Dawn Kresser, Salt Lake City; 6 grandchildren: Wanda-Rusty Anderson, Roger and Dusty Willey, Steven, Douglas and Cheryl Kresser. 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son, LeRoy F. Willey and a grandson, David Edward Willey.

Funeral services Wednesday, January 2nd, 1991 at 2 pm, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Tuesday 6-8 pm, and Wednesday one hour prior to the services. Burial in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
