BLUEFIELD, Va. - Marie Elizabeth Earls Slade, 81, of 304 Edgewood Road, Bluefield, Va., died Thursday, April 15, 2004 in a Bluefield hospital.
She was born in Bluefield, and was a daughter of the late Charlie Crigger and Mattie Cora Woods Crigger. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Fred Earls Sr. and George Slade; a son, Fred Earls Jr.; sister, Maude K. Wilson; and by brothers, Henry, Fred, Rawley, Ray and Woodrow Crigger.
Survivors: Sister, Helen Sturdivant of Bluefield, Va.; daughter-in-law, Ruby Earls of Bluefield; stepson, Frank Slade and wife Sue of Springville, Va.; grandsons, Joe Earls of Lewisburg and John Earls III of Bluefield; great grandchildren, Sidney Earls and Kendra Earls; step grandchildren, Pam and Greg; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, Va. with the Rev. Lacy Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
