Phyllis June (Littlefield) Draper, 82, of Alton, N.H., died July 7, 2008 at home.

Born Nov. 21, 1925 in Alton, daughter of the late W. Chester and Jennie (Glidden) Littlfield, she was raised and educated in Alton.

Widow of the late Reginald Draper, they resided in Rochester from 1947 to 1960 and then moved back to her family home in Alton.

She was a member of Merrymeeting Grange, Warren-Alpha Chapter 10, Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Community Church of Alton for more than 60 years and the Women's Christian Fellowship of the Church. She was a Trustee of the Gilman Home in Alton, member of the Alton Historical Society and Friends of the Gilman Library. She was recipient of the O.E.S. Quimby-Spooner Award in 2005, for dedicated community service.

On March 13, 2002, she was honored at Town Meeting for her faithful service and lifelong achievements to the Town of Alton, including, assistant town clerk, assistant town moderator, election ballot clerk and ballot counter and for her many years of volunteer work for the church, charities and community of Alton.

Phyllis loved cooking and especially baking, being well known for her apple pies and her "Mountain Cookies."

She is survived by her two daughters, Diane C. McEntee of Milford, N.H., and Janice and husband, Robert Kroepel of New Durham; a niece, Linda Elsemore of Hernando, Fla., and cousins, Natalie Jones and Norma Park, both of Farmington, Donna Jerome of Barrington, Shirley McDonald of Rochester, Robert Glidden of Houlton, Maine, David Glidden of Union, Arlene Glidden of Florida; a grandniece, Leanne Smith of Charlestown, W.Va., and grandnephew, David Elsemore of South Portland, Maine.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Draper and grandson, Daniel McEntee.

She dearly loved her family and her many friends in Alton.

Calling hours are Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School St., Alton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at the Community Church of Alton on Main Street in Alton, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Adams, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Old Riverside Cemetery on Main Street in Alton.
