The funeral service for William W. Frank was conducted on Wednesday forenoon, June 17, at the Congregational church. Mr. Frank died very unexpectedly at his home at 415 Washington on Saturday evening, June 13, 1970, as the result of a heart attack. He was 78. The service was conducted by the Rev. Gordon Forbes, minister of the Congregational church of which the deceased was a member, and the Rev. Donald Field, rector of All Saints Episcopal church which is located next door to the Frank home. Mrs. Dewayne Wee was organist and Don McRae, vocal soloist. Interment was in Oaklawn cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were William Hunt, John Petricka, Elsner Machacek, James Machacek, George Krippner, Sr., all of Northfield, and Emil Krupp of Faribault. Mr. Frank was born on April 17, 1892, at New Prague. He married Helen Rose Rick on December 24, 1919, in Minneapolis. They lived in New Prague until 1942 when they moved to Northfield. Mrs. Frank died on May 2, 1963. Mr. Frank was employed for many years at the New Prague Foundry, then at the Northfield Foundry and Machine company. For several years before his retirement in 1962, he was an engineer at St. Olaf College. He was a member of several organizations in New Prague, Jordan and Northfield. They were the VFW, American Legion (he was a World War I veteran), Masonic orders, Order of the Eastern Star, Odd Fellows, ZCBJ, Pioneer Historical association, and he was a life member of both the National Association of Power Engineers and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. He is survived by a son, William Robert, and a daughter, LaDoris Mae, both of Northfield; a brother, Joseph L. Frank of MInneapolis.
