James Freeman "Bud" Acock, 87, Bonner Springs, KS, passed away March 12, 2004, at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at Community of Christ Church, 130 Metropolitan, Bonner Springs, where visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday; burial in Bonner Springs Cemetery.


Kansas City Kansan March 16, 2004:

James "Bud" Acock, 87, Bonner Springs, died Friday, March 12, 2004, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at the Community of Christ Church, 130 Metropolitan, Bonner Springs, with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery . Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Bud was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Farmington, Mo. He was preceded in death by one brother, William P. Acock, and three sisters, Cathryn Wilson, Louise Scott and Lucill Woodman.

Survivors include his wife, Anna L. Acock, of the home; four children, James Albert Acock, Camp Verde, Ariz., Larry Burton Acock, Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy Louise Brazee, of the home, and Cheryl Ann Acock, Lawrence, Kan.; two sisters, Jane Hedy, Albany, Ore., and Shirley Routh, Bonner Springs; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
