Mrs. Julia Ann Clark was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 1, 1850 and died in Muscoda June 25, 1931. She was the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. S. B. Judkins who came from Maine to settle in this state. While a young child her parents moved to a home near Madison and finally settled in Deansville, a little place eighteen miles east of that city. On May 13, 1871 she was married to Henry Moore Clark and in 1879 they came to Muscoda where she has since resided. Her husband preceeded her in death July 24, 1921. Mr. and Mrs. Clark had eight children: Mrs. Myra Mainwaring, Calesta and Boliver Clark, all of Muscoda; Dr. Gustavus A. Clark of Eau Claire; Hoyt S. Clark of Bertrum, Minnesota; Walter J. Clark of Marshfield; Mrs. V. F. (Amra) Shereda of Owen, and Mrs. O. B. (Vera) Lovell of Madison. There are also sixteen greandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Mrs. Clark is survived by one sister, Mrs. Abbie Edson, of Lincoln, Nebraska.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Saturday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. L. N. Mader, pastor and by the Lauren Chapter of the Eastern Star of Muscoda. Enterment was in the Muscoda Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was a woman of sterling qualities, public spirited, strong in her convictions, deeply loved and respected by her family.
