William "Bill" L. Bendorf, 84, of Lancaster, WI, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral home, Platteville,WI. Burial was at the Aupperle Cemetery rural Lancaster.
William was born on Oct. 12, 1922, in Grant County the son of Lewis William and Nellie Isabelle (Wieland) Bendorf. He was united in marriage to Mildred G. Noble on Oct. 20, 1948, in Clinton, IA. She preceded him in death on June 20, 1991. He and Mildred farmed in Creston, IA from 1950-1960. In 1960 they moved to Ellenboro Twp. Grant County and farmed. They did foster care for many years. William was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Lancaster, where he served as a deacon. He is survived by his six children; Elgie (Betty) Bendorf of Reedsburg, WI, Roger (Lisa) Bendorf of Baileyville, IL, Elaine (J.Evan) Noynaert of St. Joseph, MO, Reggie (Suzanne) Bendorf of Warrensburg, MO, Rick (Jennifer) Bendorf of Lee's Summit, MO and Randy (Linda) Bendorf of Lancaster.; 16 grandchildren; three sisters; three brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Robert and grandson Aaron Roger, parents and three brothers.
