Albert was the son of Ralph and Anna Barr. Albert was the youngest of 12 children, three girls and nine boys. He moved as a child with his family to outlook in 1942. He attended Outlook Elementary School and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1952. He served in the U.S.Army during the Korean Conflict. On May 20, 1955 he married Patricia Trusley. They were married for 49 years.
He was an operating engineer at Hanford for 32 years, from January 1955 to August 1987. He farmed and ranched in the Lower Valley all of his life.
He was a 4-H leader, a softball and little league coach and a Cub Scout leader. he never missed any of his children's or grand-children's special events or sports. He was past president of the Lower Valley Gun Club, a long-time member of the Eagles, VFW, and the Outlook Grange.
He loved to hunt, fish, bowl, play volleyball, golf, water ski, travel, and be on the go. He loved to cut a wild rug(dance) with his wife and enjoyed all that the Lower Valley had to offer.
He is survived by his children, Cathy (Dorman) Blankenship, Chuck (Ruth) Barr. and Christina (Rick) Duggins. Nine grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Sonshine, Caleb, Joshua, Jacob, Matthew, Alissa, Cecelia, Joshua, Erika, and Kameron, and three great grandchildren; one sister, Norma Krieger, one brother, Jim Barr; two sister-in-law, Nevel Barr and Donna Borr; many nieces and nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Carl Barr, in July 2003.
