Stafford County Republican (Stafford, KS), Thu, Jan 20, 1887

Died on Jan 13th, at 11 o'clock, a.m., of diptheria, Eddie, second son of Milton and Ida Hillabold.
First, from our family circle,
Little Earl was called to go;
And, oh, 'twas hard to give him up
We loved our darling so.
With sorrow stricken, bleeding, hears
We laid him in the tomb,
Our Youngest child, our darling babe;
Our home was wrapped in gloom.
We felt as tho' our aching hearts
Had all that they could bear,
And surely thought the tyrant, death,
Our other babes would spare.
But three short days of time had passed
When an other call was made;
And our second child, our Eddie dear,
By his brother Earl was laid.
The grief that now our hearts doth fill
No mortal tongue can tell.
We can only submit to Him who rules
And say: He doeth all things well.

We take this plan of thanking our friends and neighbors for their kindness during the recent sickness and death of our little boys, Earl and Eddie.
