According to Mary Helen Pemberton, the current Union Cemetery near Ludlow Falls, Miami County, OH was part of Marmaduke's original farm.

According to The Coppock Story by J. C. Patty 1958, Mary Jane was one of the two girls kidnapped by Indians and kept for several years. Marmaduke gave the Indians his horse, saddle, and bridle as a ransom for Mary. Mary Jane was a Quaker.
