She was the youngest of twelve children born to Charlston "Charles" McCreery Johnston and the former Rebecca Ann Hammond of Bolivar, PA.

Funeral services for Dorothy 93 of Angleton and West Columbia will be held at 3:30 pm, Friday, April 11, 1997 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in West Columbia with Rev J D Benson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest in West Columbia. She passed away Wednesday April 9, 1997 at Angelon Danbury General Hospital. Friends may call from noon to 5:00 pm. today, April 10, 1997 at Baker Funeral and Friday from 9:00 am to service time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles M. and Rebecca Johnston; husband Herman B Smith and daughter Charlotte L Howard. Survivors include her son Carl W. Gloor of Bellevue Washington; sister Claire Burns of Emporium Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be residents of Cypress Woods Care Center in Angleton. Arrangements by Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia Texas.

Notes: She was married (1) Carl William Gloor Sr. on 15 Aug 1922 in Pennsylvania. They had two children.
She married (2) Herman B. Smith on 10 Jul 1958 in Clark county, Nevada. (no children).
