Mary Frances Kennett claimed to be an Indiana Hoosier. She made the trip to Kansas in a covered wagon, and married Charles Henry Juneau. She was employed as a domestic before her marriage. She had a passion for dancing, as her husband was a fiddler at many country dances in the North Topeka and Menoken areas.
After Charles died, a man named Gustave Zimmerman came to the funeral home ran by his niece Gertrude Talty and her husband. Gustave said his wife had died and he was looking for a wife. Gertrude sent "Gus" to see Mary Frances Juneau. He and Mary Frances were married at the Church of the Assumption shortly after that.
