She was born in Webster, Maine, Feb. 22, 1917, daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Jackson) Brewer. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Eric Lofgren; her brother Herbert Brewer; and sisters Louise Hill and Myrle Ricker.
Mrs. Lofgren was an avid reader, loved playing cards and gardening. Mrs. Lofgren was always up for a good game of Scrabble.
Mrs. Lofgren is survived by her son: Carl Lofgren and wife Sylvia of Lewes; one sister: Carrie Jenkins of Auburn, Maine; two nieces: Beverly Blais and Dr. Virginia Hill; one nephew: Walter Hill; two grandchildren: Scott Lofgren and his wife Cheryl of Rosedale, Md., and Kimberly Petrone and her husband Sean of Somerville, S.C.; and two great-grandsons: Anthony and Tyler Petrone.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 2, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where the family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Dr., Suite 101, Newark, DE 19711, or Cadbury Foundation, 17028 Cadbury Circle, Lewes, DE 19958.
