FOR LEM Z. CROWE
Funeral services for Lem Z.Crowe , 81 , who died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at his residence at 1001 Truitt Ave., will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church.
The Rev. Dewitt Long , pastor,and the Rev. C. R. Bullard of Manchester will officiate.
Burial will follow in Shadowlawn with Maddox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The body will remain at the residence until 2:30 p.m. tomorrow and will be in state at the church from 2:30 to 3 :30 p.m.
Mr Crowe was a native of Atlanta but had spent most of his life in LaGrange. He was employed with Callaway Mills for
48 years, beginning work in 1900 when the company’s first plant Unity was built. He retired in 1948 and was a member of the Company’s 25 year club. He also was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
He had been in failing health for several years and seriously Ill for the past 12 days.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtyice Crowe of LaGrange, a daughter, Mrs. J.F. Benecke, Arlington, Wash. A stepdaughter Mrs. Virginia Paschal, LaGrange, a step-son T.G. Boyd , LaGrange ,two sisters, Mrs Bennie Cole , and
Mrs. Pearl Powers, LaGrange, a brother, John Crowe, LaGrange/ Three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
