GRACE EMMA BUTLER

Grace Emma Butler, daughter of Mahlon and Clorinda Roy Gardner was born on May 31, 1881 in Farmer City, Illinois, and passed away at the Montgomery, County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa on May 4, 1979.
ON September 17, 1907 Grace married Jacob Butler in Hillsboro, Ohio during Hillsboro’s Centennial year. To this union was born a son, Jacob, and two daughters, grace Louise (Lowenberg), who passed away in 1967, and Barbara Pearl (Units). Grace’s husband Jacob, a Civil War Veteran, died on May 18, 1918; and a grandson, James Lowenberg also preceded her in death.
Grace committed her life to Christ at a very early age and was baptized some years later in the Villisca Baptist Church. When the Baptist Church closed she became a member of the Advent Christian Church where she was a member for about forty years.
Ashe leaves to mourn her passing, Barbara Pearl and Jacob, thirteen grandchildren twenty-five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Services were held May 7, 1979 at the Advent Christian Church in Villisca with the Reverend Elliott T. Bodwell officiating.
Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca was in charge of arrangements.
