FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TODAY
FOR NINIAN EDMONSTON

Superintendent of Shelby Water System Succumbed to Attack of Pneumonia Following Influenza….Was Esteemed by Entire Community
The death of Ninian Edmonston occurred at his home in the this city on Tuesday, May 25 (1926). The deceased was afflicted with an attack of the flu about 10 days ago, and from this pneumonia resulted with its fatal ending,
Mr. Edmonston was 55 years of age, and is survived by the widow and five children. He had been a resident of this section of Montana for the past 35 years, and was one of the most highly respected of Shelby ’s citizens. He was the superintendent of the Shelby water system ever since its establishment many years ago, and was very faithful and conscientious in the performance of his duties. A kindly man and devoted father, Nin Edmonston was a friend to all with whom he was acquainted, and his untimely death has cast sadness over the entire community. His popularity is attested by the fact that all business houses of the city were closed during the hour of his funeral services, which were held in the auditorium of the high school in order to accommodate the tremendous throng of people who wished to pay him the respect he was so well entitled to. The funeral was held today and the burial was made in the local cemetery, Rev. Walter C. Wamplier conducting the services. The Lyon Undertaking Parlors had charge of the funeral.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were the following relatives: George Myers and children, from Townsend , Mont. , John Zimmerman of Choteau, Mr. and Mrs. Bonathan of Kallispell and W. Odenwalt of Choteau. A brother in California and another in Illinois could not be reached in time to attend. His oldest daughter Clara arrived from San Francisco but a few hours before his death.
