Still another of Fredonia's service men who lost their lives while in uniform came home this week.
He was Second Lt. Anthony J. DeStefano, a native of this village, who was killed July 4, 1944 in Ireland. His body arrived Tuesday evening at Dunkirk. Funeral services were to be conducted at 9 o'clock this morning at St. Mary's Church wtih committal rites at St. Anthony's Cemetery here.
Lt. DeStefano, son of Mr and Mrs. Joseph DeStefano of Dunkirk, was born here in 1920. He was a graduate of Kenmore High School in 1938 and a member of Boy Scout Trop 92 of Buffalo. He entered the service August 27, 1941, and became an aerial gunner at Kingman, Ariz. He won his bombardier wings and a commission after advanced training at Kirkland Field, Albuquerque, NM.
Besides his parents he leaves one sister.
