Frank was born in the village of Bonefro in the province of Campobasso in the region of Molise in Italy. He was the son of Pardo and Maria Saveria (Porazzo) Agostinelli (who died in 1934 and 1919 respectively). He married Maria Nicola "Nicolina/Maggie" Tavone (who died in 1984) in 1920 in Providence, RI.
