Emma Lou Weaver, 85, of Wooster died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, following a lengthy illness.
Emma was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Holmes County, the daughter of David and Arie (née Troyer) Yoder.
She married Dan A. Weaver on Nov. 26, 1946, who survives. She and her husband operated a farm until retiring in 1979, and she also had worked at The William Annat Co. for 10 years. She had made her home on Hoy Road, Fredericksburg, from 1979 until 2010, when she moved to Wooster.
She was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Wooster and had enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time with her family. She is remembered as a wonderful cook.
Along with her husband, she is survived by six children, Ray (Anita) Weaver of Ashland, Robert (Amy) Weaver of Orrville, Fannie (Leon) Slabaugh of Kidron, John (Toni) Weaver of Plain City, Jim (Kathy) Weaver of Wooster and Harold (Deanna) Weaver of Wooster; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Yoder of Navarre; and a sister, Esther Yoder of Berlin.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Miller; and brothers, Thomas, Ben and Dave Yoder.
Memorial services will take place 4 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Grace Brethren Church in Wooster with Pastor Robert Fetterhoff. The Rev. Tom Michaels will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery.
