BENSON, Esther Chenoweth, 88, resident of Woodward, OK, died Sat., Aug. 25, 1990in an Okla. City hospital. Esther was born to John and Rose Lucas on Sep. 24, 1901 near Oxford, KS. She moved to Woodward County as a child and has lived there since that time. In the 1920's she worked for Bell Telephone as an operator. She married Robert Chenoweth Oct. 29, 1921, he preceded her in death in 1962. She married Everett Benson in 1964 and he preceded her in death in 1985. She was active in the Home Demonstration Club and was a faithful member of the Woodward Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by 1 son, Max Chenoweth and his wife, Janette of Fargo; 1 daughter, Maxine Eagon of Okla City; 2 sisters, Pearl Carey of Woodward, Alice Krout of Glencoe; 1 brother, Johnny Lucas of Washington State; 2 step-sons, Bob Wasson, Woodward and Don Wasson of Ft. Supply; 5 step-daughters, Lorraine Ross, Opal Dale, Ruby Gall and Emalene Stepp all of Woodward and Lois Boyles of Sharon; 2 grandchildren, Kaylene Fields of DeSota, TX, Donald Chenoweth of Woodward; 3 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tues., Aug. 28, First Church of the Nazarene Woodward with burial in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Yanda and Son, Yukon.
