Dessie Lee Gilreath, was the youngest daughter of Miles M. Gilreath and Georgia Ann (Yarbrough).
Dessie, with her mother and older sister, Vina, lived in Latimer Co. Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, in 1900. (Her given name has been transcribed various ways). Georgia's brother, Am [Ambrose] Yarbrough, was in Georgia's HH in this census. Ambrose d. in TX.
When Georgia moved to Creek County is unknown, but she settled there as reported by the Yarbrough family in TX. She was found there in censuses as "Anna Barnett" in 1930-1940. In 1930, a niece, Nina[sp], Gilreath, age 18, b. AL was in Georgia's HH in Bristow. (See orig. census for her first name. Nina is how it was transcribed.)
Dessie's occupation in 1930 on census was working as a "tailor" in a drygoods store, and "Nina" was a clerk in same.
Dessie apparently never married; she purchased the plots where her mother and herself are buried in the Bristow Cemetery. (Per cemetery office conversation). Her older sister, Vina (Gilreath)Vincent, and her husband Clifford Vincent, are also buried here.
