Funeral services for Johnnie Acrey McMillan, 87, of La Marque and formerly of Cushing will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, in the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, with Dan Ross and Mason Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Cushing City Cemetery. Mrs. McMillan passed away Monday, June 18, 2012, in La Marque, Texas. She was born June 2, 1925, in Cushing, Texas, to John and Lelia Mixon Acrey. Johnnie worked and retired from the Nacogdoches County Courthouse where she worked in the probation department. She lived her life to the fullest and always loved a good party, good music and lots of dancing. She will be missed by many friends and family members. Johnnie was preceded in death by her sister, Jewel Allen. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Raymond P. and Robin Stowe of Galveston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Mike Steward of Forney, Texas; sister, Dixie Jackson of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren: Stephanie Morris and husband, Chip, Charles Lamb, Rene Stowe and Richelle Stowe; great-grandchildren, Sophia Morris and Hudson Morris; nieces, Sandra Bonds and Candy Ross; nephews, Mason Honeycutt and Larry Allen; and numerous extended family members.
