RALEIGH – Eva Broyles Woods, 88, a resident of Independence Village died suddenly Monday afternoon at Rex Hospital. She was born in Culpeper Co., Virginia daughter to the late James W. and Annie Wayland Broyles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris L. (Woody) Woods in 1975, a sister Alice B. Marshall and brothers, Wayland Broyles and Harmon E. Broyles. Eva was a former Real Estate agent and retired as secretary with Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. She was a lifetime member of the National Experimental Aircraft Association and the local Harris L. Woods Memorial Chapter #506 in Smithfield. She also was a member of Westover United Methodist Church and the BYB Senior Adult Group.


A funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday (October 22nd) at Westover United Methodist Church with burial to precede the service at the Raleigh National Cemetery.


She is survived by her children Terri Woods of Raleigh, Dotty Campbell of Culpeper, VA, Bob Woods and wife Annette of Mt. Olive; sister, Mary B. Brown and brother James H. Broyles and wife Hazel of Culpeper, VA; grandchildren Scott Woods and wife Amanda of Goldsboro, Joy Wright and husband Kevin of Kenly, Anne E. Campbell of St. Johns, Virgin Island; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Dylan and Katelyn Woods, Kasey, Madison, and William Wright.


Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Westover United Methodist Church, 300 Powell Dr., Raleigh, NC 27606 or to Make a Wish Foundation of Eastern NC, Morrisville, NC.

The family will receive friends Friday following the service at the church and other times at the home of Terri Woods, 1009 Feldmen Dr., Raleigh, NC.
