Anne L. Becker, 73, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at NorthPark Senior Living Community following a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Anne L. Becker was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Lake Andes, S.D., the daughter of William and Frances (Theis) Ambroz. She grew up on the family farm near Coleridge, Neb.

She married Donovan J. Becker on April 27, 1948, in Coleridge. After their marriage, the couple resided in Sioux City. She worked at John Morrell and Armour packing plants for 45 years. Mr. Becker died June 14, 1995, in Sioux City.

Mrs. Becker was a longtime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed yardwork, the outdoors and her dog, Casey. She was an avid participant in Open Line on KSCJ Radio.

Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Peggy and Harvey Hansen, Jeanne and Louie Mozak, Susan and Brian Bauerly and Cindy and Eric Denney, all of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a very special nephew, Roger Ambroz of Sergeant Bluff; several other nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Irene Ambroz of Sioux City; and her husband's brothers and sisters, Richard and his wife, Shirley Becker, Mary and her husband, Dean Albrecht, Frannie Becker and Rita Marx, all of Sioux City, and Joan and her husband, Art Moecher of Bird Island, Minn.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Louie and Fritz Ambroz.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Hansen, Louie Mozak, Brian Bauerly, Eric Denney, Roger Ambroz and Ron Nichols.
