Mrs. Adkerson was born June 13, 1923 in Pittsylvania County to the late Linwood O. Reynolds and the late Ella Jackson Reynolds. She was married to the late Boyd William Adkerson on Dec 22,1941.
Mrs. Adkerson worked for Disston for 15 years. She spent most of her life in 1st Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she belonged to UMW, Women's Christian Temperance Union and Kitty Stowe Bible Class. One of her favorite sayings was "Nothing in my hand I bring… Simply to the Cross I Cling".
