Third child of August and Barbara Lorenz Wiler.

Age 78, he was very artistic. He worked at the Teller Organ Company carving the designs on the organs with a gas burner. He later worked at the Erie County Milk Company decorating wedding cakes and making ice carvings
for the Lawrence Hotel. Then he opened the first automobile paint shop in Erie, PA.

John married Sarah Throne in Erie on 12 Sept 1902. [daughter of Amos and Carrie Throne]. John Henry was 18 and Sarah was 16. They had two children (Amos and George). They divorced 14 January 1907. (Sarah remarried (Herbert Vance) but died in 1921 at age 35)

He married Ann Allen [daughter of William Allen and Jane King] on 25 Nov 1907. Sarah was 21 and John Henry was 23. They had four children. John and Ann were separated at the time of her death and are buried in different Erie cemeteries.

John H. Wiler
Age seventy-nine, of Lawrence Park, died in his home Saturday Evening after a years illness. A Native of Buffalo, Mr. Wiler had lived in Erie for some time. He was a retired automobile painter. His survivors include two sons, Charles A. Wiler, of Lawrence Park and Arthur H. Wiler of Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Dorothy) Massing, of Kentucky, and Mrs. Arthur (Bernice) Rathbun, of Erie; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a brother, Gustav Wiler*, of Erie. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

(*Usually spelled as August or "Gus" or "Gust" but also spelled as Gustav at times)
