Former Resident of West Side Expires--TAFT, July 28--John W. Branscum, a former resident of West Side fields, died Saturday morning at 2:20 o'clock at his home in Porterville, following a short illness. Mr. Branscum resided in the fields for five years and was employed by the Associated Oil Company while here. He moved to Porterville about one year ago. He is survived by his widow and son residing in Porterville; his mother, Mrs. W. A. Branscum of Porterville and father, W. A. Branscum of Florida. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Rose Stricker of Wilmington, Mrs. R. D. Crawford of Taft and Miss Gladys Branscum of Porterville, and a brother, T. A. Branscum of Brawley. Funeral services will be held at Porterville.
