The family of M. M. Neyhart was called home the fore days of this week when the message gave information of their father's passing Sunday morning about 5 a.m. at the Geneva General hospital.
Mr. Neyhart last week had one of his asthma attacks. His son Lloyd, here from Lincoln from Tuesday until Friday, wanted to call medical services, which the father thought unnecessary. Toward the weekend his condition grew worse. Neighbors, the Henry Schelbitzkis of the need of a physician. Apparently he realized death was near, but did not wish to alarm the children. He was taken to the Geneva hospital that evening and death claimed him the next morning.
Mr. Neyhart has lived in Ohiowa since its earliest years, seeing the town grow until it had a population almost double the present. His family was reared here. After his wife's passing Ohiowa continued to be his home, although of late years he spent the winters with some of his children.
He lived alone and did his work and his lawn was a credit to the community, always nicely mowed. In his middle eighties he resigned himself to home work only. His children looked after his welfare even if distance separated them. He leaves three sons, Arthur, Lloyd and Ray, and one daughter, Mrs. Alice Weiss, and several grandchildren who came for the funeral held Wednesday, May 28, from the Philippi Funeral Home.
