Hugh and Grace moved from Oklahoma to California to make their home in Salinas and it was there that Hugh passed from this life. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to farming he had worked as a dairy hand.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Artie, a sister, Velma and a son, Arthur Hugh.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are their two daughters, Ella Faye Kynaston and Doreen Delma Jenkins; a daughter-in-law, Irene (Pritchard) Carmichael; several grandchildren; one brother, Earl and his wife Madeline and one sister, Stella and her husband, Floyd.
