Obituary for Jewell Fraley HackworthJewell Fraley Hackworth, 92, of Catlettsburg, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Hospice Care center surrounded by her loving family.
Jewell was born December 4, 1919, a daughter of the late Burley and Stella Blair Fraley. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Norman "Dock" Hackworth, a daughter Stella Diane Hackworth, brothers Clyde, Donald and Connard Fraley and a sister Georgia Aldridge.
Jewell was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Mavity Freewill Baptist Church. Jewell will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include sons, J. B. Hackworth and wife Kaye, Charles Hackworth and wife Becky, Wilbur Hackworth and wife Linda all of Ashland, daughters Sue Frazier and husband Tony of Berry, KY., Sandra Sicard and husband Jim of Katy, TX., sister Glema Blade and husband John of Jacksonville, FL., 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the Mavity Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Michael Gullett. Burial will follow in the Hackworth Cemetery in Boyd County. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm at the church. Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Scott Frazier, Michael Frazier, Jamie Frazier, Jason Hackworth, Jeff Hackworth, Adam Sicard and Aaron Hackworth.
