From the book 'Dexter Genealogy Being a Record of the Families Descended from Rev Gregory Dexter with Notes and Biographical Sketches of Each Parent', S.C. Newman, 1859:

This man is quite an eminent sculptor- he made the statue of General Warren, at the Bunker Hill Monument. He has an office in Boston, but his residence and studio are at Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has produced some of the best pieces of art seen at Mount Auburn, and has given additional lustre to American genius. He is also a respectable portrait painter.
