Shocking Death of Hon Chris Hinn Plainview, Texas
Relatives and friends were inexpressibly shocked at the inteligence that reached here Monday evening that Hon Chris Hinn of Plainview, Texas, had suddenly passed away that afternoon of heart failure. The family started yesterday over the Sante Fe road with the remains for Fennimore where they will arrive over the Northwestern Thursday morning. The funeral will be held at St Peter's Lutheral church Friday afternoon at 1:30 with interment at the White cemetery beside his deceased beloved wife.
Mr Hinn on his recent home visit over the holidays showed no sign of approaching dissolution, on the contrary, was in the best of health and spirits. Just a day or two ago relatives received a long letter from him in which he laid great stress on the restful visit he had had, and the kind treatment he had everywhere received. Perhaps the buring of the mill some weeks ago casued him worry and care.
Chris would have been 71 years old June 6 next. He was a native of the town of Marion where his early life was spent on the farm. Later he ran the Red Mill on Crooked creek and the Fennimore Roller Mills, built by Hinn Bros. He was intimately associated with his brother Chas P and Jos in business and other ways. In 1890 he was elected to the Wisconsin Assembly on the Democratic ticket. At Plainfield he engaged in milling also, and was one of the town's most influential citizens. His son Albert had charge of the enterprises there.
Mr Hinn leaves a son Albert and daughter, Bertha and his brothers and sisters. His wife Nettie Hill, has been dead for some thirty years.
