She was born on Sept. 15, 1937, in Gaston County, to Mack and Thelma Abernathy.

Private graveside service will be Friday at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mt Holly.

Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is in charge of arrangements.
