Aroma Park-Visitation for W. Newton Koenig, 79, of Aroma Park, a member of the Aroma Township fire department for more than 40 years, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Deacon Dan Hessling will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made for the Aroma Township fire department.
Mr. Koenig died Monday (Oct. 4, 1993) at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
He was born Sept. 19, 1914 in Kentland, Ind., the son of Albert and Bessie Cook Koenig.
Surviving are is wife, the former Evelyn Evers, whom he married Aug. 14, 1939 in Momence; grandchildren, Gerald and Ruth Arseneau Jr. and Julie and Joanne Arseneau all of St. Anne two great-grandchildren a son-in-law, Gerald Arseneau Sr. of St. Anne; a sister, Bernice Lafond of Tempe, Ariz.; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Eldo Lafond of St. Anne, Mickey and Walter Allen of Mitchell, Ind. and Lester and Betty Evers of Bedford, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and one brother.
For 39 years Mr. Koenig was employed at Lowe Seed Co. in Aroma Park.
