This is my Uncle Dan. He is my Daddy's younger brother.

Daniel (Dan) Benjamin Adaway went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2012. In the "twinkling of an eye", Dan passed peacefully at his home in Lake Jackson, Texas with his loving wife by his side. The youngest of 10 children; Dan was born on January 17, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas to Sebastian and Alice Adaway.

When he was 19 years old, Dan met his faithful, loving wife of 63 years, Helen (Faye) in Port Arthur, Texas. He served in the Army Air Force in 1946, worked with the United States Merchant Marines and was an insulator. He served as the first President of Brazoria County REACT. Dan loved the sea, wild life watching and the Houston Astros. He loved being on the water and once owned a shrimp boat. In 1966, Dan & Faye opened Brazoria County's first pet store "Tropical Fish and Pet Supply" where they owned/operated it for 35 years. In 2004, they opened "Adaway's Garden & Gifts" where they worked together until recently deciding to close the business.
