Asa F. Embree Dead.

Asa F. Embree was born in Putman county, Indiana, March 8, 1845. Moved to Henry county when a small boy. At 11 years of age he moved to Green county, Iowa. And at the age of 22 married Miss Maria McCally and joined the M.E. church in 1869. Moved to Pocahontas county, Ia. with his family in 1882 and lived there until 1902 when he moved to Chippewa county, Minn., where he lived until he died on Nov. 10, 1909. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn the loss of a kind hearted father and a loving husband. The children were all present at his bedside at the last hour, but one daughter, Mrs. Switzer, who was ill at Holyoke, Minn. There were four boys, John, Frank, Charlie and Eben; three girls, Mrs. Switzer, Mrs. Ericksen and Mrs. Hurley. All the family are married but the two younger sons. The funeral services were held at the house. Sermon by Rev. Geer, pastor of the Rosewood M.E. church. The M.E. choir rendered some very beautiful selections. The body was laid at rest in the Rosehill cemetery.
