First wife was Verna Grabbert (daughter of Charles and Minnie Grabbert) who he married in 1920 in Porter County, IN. That marriage ended in divorce. Verna married Wm E Perry and moved to Hebron, IL. Wm E Perry was first married to Floy Bigelow.
They had a son Elmer Bigelow who was killed in World War II.
Albert married second Helen Green Ellis who was first married to Martin Ellis of LaPorte.

Albert's son Elmer C Bigelow was a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient:
Birth: Jul. 12, 1920 Hebron, McHenry County, IL
Death: Feb. 15, 1945, Philippines
World War II Navy Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served during World War II on board the USS Fletcher as Water Tender 2nd Class. On February 14, 1945, the USS Fletcher was hit by an enemy shell and was set afire while minesweeping operations for landings on Manila Bay's Corregidor Island. He fought the blaze and tried to save the ship but was badly wounded and died the next day. He was then awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism.
