Mrs. Caroline Curtis of Macomb Dies at 74
Mrs. Caroline Curtis, 74, of 116 N. Ward St., died at 2 p.m. Sunday at her residence. She had been in poor health two years and seriously ill two months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Clugston Funeral Chapel in Macomb. The Rev. Cecil Swindle will officiate and burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Curtis was born Aug. 24, 1893, in Littleton Township, Schuyler County, to Arthur and Lydia Anna Hess Barrett. She was a lifelong resident of Schuyler and McDonough Counties and was a member of East Bethel Methodist Church. She had resided in Macomb since 1943.
On Jan. 31, 1912 she married Roy L. Curtis, who survives with a son and daughter, Marion Curtis and Mrs. Marjorie Alexander, both of Macomb ; three grandchildren ; five brothers and sisters, Arthur Barrett of Gig Harbor, Wash., Albert Barrett of LaHarpe, Henry Barrett of Colchester, Mrs Minie Beckham and Mrs. Ethel Johnson, both of Spokane, Wash.
Five brothers, Charles, Enos, John, Louis and Glen, two sisters, Mrs. Cora Butterfield and Mrs. Mary Plank, and two infant sisters, Maude and Ella, are deceased.
The family has asked to omit flowers. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8:30 this evening at the funeral home.
