"My Husband's Aunt"

Mrs Laura Leona Durham Dixon, 73, of Route 1, Pierce City, Missouri, passed away at 5 a.m. November 22, at her home after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Dixon was born January 25, 1908, at Seneca, Missouri, to Granville Bazzel and Edna Bennett Durham, and had lived in the Pierce City area since 1949. She was a retired seamstress.

She was the sister of Ora, Ray, Lester, Albert and Ralph Dixon, and two brothers who died in infancy, sisters, Jessie Miller, Ina Dunham, and Hazel Dixon.


On July 2, 1938, she married Rev. Glenn Dixon at Seneca, Missouri and he survives. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monett.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Mrs Vivian Walters of Pierce City, and Miss Phyllis Dixon of Nevada, Mo. A brother Albert Durham and a sister Hazel Dixon, both of Carl Junction, Missouri, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
