His ashes are strewn over mother, Caroline Gerrells grave in the Gerells Cemetery, Town of Sheboygan Falls. Cemetery was on the Gerrells farm now it is owned by the Fiedler's (still in 2022) Section 21 Town of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin

"Pliny Hosmer June 26, 1875 - Sept. 13, 1955. There is no stone for this person. A large newspaper article dated Sept. 24 (?) 1955 tells of the death of Pliny Hosmer Gerrells, born in Sheboygan County and died in Glendale, California. His ashes were sent back to Sheboygan and, as Pliny Gerrells had pre-arranged with a local funeral home, the ashes were scattered over the grave of his mother, Caroline.
