"Bernardine Grote
"Died, Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 4 p.m. Bernardina Grote after an Illness of only 18 hours. Monday evening the sickness began with a bad headache and the next morning the young lady's throat began to swell and kept on swelling until it was closed. When the doctor arrived the poor young lady breathed her last. Miss Grote was one of our most estimable young ladies, about 18 years old. She will be missed by all. The funeral was held Thursday. The deceased leaves her parents, one brother, and many relatives to mourn her loss."
